Nearly
100 years ago, Mr. Cecilio Lindo came to Costa Rica and purchased
a farm in the Juan Viñas region, an area known for its coffee
and sugar cane production. By 1912, he had purchased seven properties,
thus forming one large farm, which he named Juan Viñas Coffee
and Sugar Estates.
In
1945, the Jiménez family and other Costa Rican investors,
acquired the farm and founded Hacienda Juan Viñas S.A.
For more than 50 years, three generations of the Jiménez
family have been managing the operation, keeping the tradition of
growing and processing coffee, sugar
cane and macadamia nuts of the
highest quality.
